When I was a kid, and people asked me which figure skater I wanted to grow up to be like, I knew what the answer was supposed to be. I was supposed to want to be Debi Thomas or Jill Trenary when I grew up. Katarina Witt might have been acceptable, although that answer would have pegged me as kind of a Communist. I went to SOI last week in Vancouver and got to meet a few skaters (Miki! Evan! Sasha! Kurt! Shawn! etc) at the autograph signing the day before. It was awesome. :D

So as some of you may know, the 25th Anniversary of Stars on Ice kicked off their tour this weekend. The first show was last night in California - San Jose, to be exact - and I dragged my mom along with me for my first live(!) skating event.

My thoughts are with you

Kurt Browning's home in Toronto was badly damaged in a fire today. Some reports are saying the home was gutted. 50 firefighters and 12 trucks responded to the 11am fire. The fire was finely extinguished at around 2pm.
